2nd time on the river wey, A nice chap also told me how to get to the fields opposite where an extra section is fish able..very nice
anyway, caught my first grayling which was very nice and my first river barbel..massive, must be all of 3 inches lol
some river fishing can be a tad risky..note the two behind the cows and irate bull leaving in rather a hurry
i did enjoy the day catching some roach and brown trout
not Going to mention how many times the line got wrapped around the bell housing, a few but didn’t subtract from the day
all caught trotting maggot.
till the next time weather permitting,

Sorry mate, but on the other hand you will be able to enjoy the thrill of catching your first barbel twice now 😄

On the plus side, you could be setting a new trend as it's the first time I've seen a gudgeon on an unhooking mat 🙂.

Hi Bryan,

is that reel a 507? when you say line getting caught round the bell housing ...
1. I assume you're using the original deep aluminium spool?
2. Is it tangling around the spindle with the spring covering it?
