Hi guys, l am going to be fishing the river at the Leaton estate just outside of Shrewsbury on Sunday, not fished the river for at least ten years and that was in the town itself and not Sundays venue. I am guessing the river level is up, so l intend to just fish for barbel on the lead, or feeder. Not going to bother taking stick float gear, which normally would be my first choice.
So any news on the river conditions and how the river is actually fishing, baits will be mainly meat or pellets, l have still got a couple of tins of stinky garlic spam, so l shall open one of those, and a couple of tins of chilli hemp to add to my groundbait mix for the feeder, would 60gram feeders be heavy enough.
I feel like a proper novice as its been such a long time since l last tried this.
Thanks guys.

Sundays trip to fish the Severn has been postponed for the time being due to a high and still rising river.
So plan B and a trip to a club lake after the resident bream is now the days entertainment.
