Thinking if knocking up a Pole Rig Making Board.
I’ve got a few ideas, but I’d like to pick MD’ers brains on little design tweaks, such as length, markings, pins etc etc…as I’m sure there are plenty on here that have made there own. Pics would be much appreciated 🙂👍🎣

Mine is 4 foot - with holes drilled at every foot. Use rivets as marker pins. Can do anything from 1 foot upwards - by wrapping multiple times round pins. My longest are 14 ft - for a particularly deep local water

I don't use any board. Make up rig from end loop upwards and then place on winder and count turns. Have a sheet with qty of turns for each winder length I use (120mm, 140mm, 160mm, 180mm, 200mm etc) equating to each rig length (2m, 3m, 4m etc).

I don't understand what a board does for you? Managed fine for decades using my span as six foot and fingertip to nose 3ft.

Holds the line nice and taught when applying shot or stotz
….and, as I’m very lazy as regards making rigs, I’m hoping it will encourage me to get down to it and actually prepare some 🙄👍

It also helps with consistency when replicating rigs Frank...(y)....Good habit to get into and you'll be surprised it actually improves ones speed when making rigs too....(y)

My one is part of a table in my tackle room. Simply painted with black blackboard paint and then holes which I drop pins into at the desired length.

Here's my rig board, completely over engineered but I enjoy projects so keeps me happy. Made using part of an old workshop shelving unit, miscellaneous nuts and bolts and some 3d printed spacers and feet.

I was thinking if painting mine black Mick….as you can see fine line against black but not so good against white or light colours👍🎣
