Last Feb we bought a 42" LG LCD TV from Currys. This March the blooming thing started to smell and we lost the picture - 3 weeks out of warranty[:(!]

Anyway after getting in touch with LG, who were extremely helpful. We had an initial offer of 70% towards the repair bill, upon getting it inspected the estimate was 502 [:0] So I was looking at 150. Anyways the bloke from the repairers said to get back in touch with LG as the screen had gone and this was quite a rare fault.

Yesterday get a letter from LG, they have agreed to replace FOC [:D]
Got to go to Currys and they will give us a TV to the value of our old one. Been down today and sorted it, wev'e got a newer and better model than our old one and it comes with a years warranty !!!


Well done LG cannot fault their customer service.

Also next time I'll get from John Lewis [:D]

wev'e had my sons 22" TV in it's place - just ain't the same [:D]
