Hi jel,

Its a good point that. The one thing that we are all told is to look after your line and keep it away from sunlight as it will eventually deteriorate. How long has it been hanging in the shop?

Many a time line does not meet the breaking strain that it is supposed to be and when your expectations of a line strength don't match, it's a recipe for disaster. Especially when still playing that big fish after the final 'shout' and the line goes as happened to me.

Maybe one for the manufacturers to think about

Hi jel,
After the shout?
I would hazard a guess that there were more shouts and mutterings, the contents of which cant be revealed for fear of moderation.

Hi jel,

It was that sickening feeling when time was called, I knew I was in the running with a few close by and I had a decent (8lb+) Carp on the end. Once time was called the rules allowed 15mins to get a fish in that was previously hooked. So there I was starting to put the pressure on and 'bully' it to the net, five minutes to go into extended time when the line just parted company. 5lb line shouldn't snap with 14 elastic.

As Peter said there is no way I could put on here what was said
especially when I took a second placing with 14oz between me and the 1st.

Needless to say, the rigs were binned very soon after, Dave

I know that my favourite pole line silstar matchteam was discontinued when silstar went bust over 12 months ago, since then wb clarke have bought the rights to it and called it clarke matchteam.some crafty dealers are still selling the silstar which is at least a year old!and charging top bat for it.

Hi Ada,

I remember we 'spoke' about this some time back
have you a contact for WB Clarke as I can't get it up this way?

Cheers, Dave
