Reel for bigger feeder fishing.

Guys. Just ordered a Drennan acolyte power feeder 13' for the Trent fishing. I've an old Shimano b/r 8000 reel that I could use as a bigger reel for it, but thought it might be a bit heavy? Would 5000/6000 really be much lighter, or should I save my money? The old 8000 is about at the size of a current day 6000 spool size wise? I know they use carbon a lot for bodies these days too! Thoughts please?

I use shimano xtd’s 5500, they’re a great reel

I think Shimano 6000 & 8000 are the same size bodies, just larger spools on 8000. Had 5010's and now have X Aero 6000 and they are considerably larger than the 5010's. If you don't need a baitrunner facility, have a look at Nash BP6, or possibly BP10.

I've just dug out my Okuma 6000 custom black carp reel. It's a bit big, little heavy, but will do I reckon? Thanks for all the help guys.
