Although it has yet to be confirmed there is a mention on a few sites of the death of Redbelly, the record Barbel from Adams Mill On the River Gt Ouse.

I have yet to find out if its true or just a rumor but if anyone knows for sure could you please let us know?

If it is indeed true then angling has lost a fantastic fish but at least it will now get a rest from the glory hunting circus.

If it is true i wonder how much the syndicate will charge for its membership next year if they even bother to stick around.
Look out the circus may be after your stretch off river next [:(]

Strange as it may seem it looks as though sadly old Troggie is right[:0]
According to at least one of the weekly comics "Red Belly" has been found dead by an angler. the fish it seems looked in good condition although dead.

Or did they just read it here first[?][;)]

Oh dear, how sad. Shall we all wear black arm bands.

I find it rather strange that there is all this interest in a dead fish (or live fish for that matter), and yet when Teepee or myself mention disabled anglers who need assistance a mute silence is the normal response, except from a few.

I shall say no more.

Geoff the main reason for my post was to have a bit of fun with Trogg.

I had always thought that one of the best things about M/Ds was the sence of humour that ran through the site. Was I wrong?

I know that you and Tony give a lot of help to disabled anglers, and more power to your elbow. However not everyone is in a position for various reasons to give the help that they would like to, and the fact that you do not get the responce that you hope for does not mean that people do not care any less than you do. People give help in many different ways and often do not talk about it.

hi geoff
i applaud your dedication to disabled anglers
but del has a point if people were not interested
why do they turn up for the fishins?
some people just cant make it, ie no transport, live to far away,
work commitments the list goes on,
just because they cant be there does not mean they dont care or help
in there own quite way without publicity,
i am sure if they could be of help they would,
i would be the first in the queue if i lived in your neck of the woods,
but i am unemployed and no transport you see my point,
just a thought
keep up the good work you do

Del, no you're not wrong! this site is all about fishing & fun [:D]
and i dont understand why this post should have come about.

but as my name has been mentioned i thought i better respond,
any post that i have made regarding helping the disabled was made to make people aware, and not for any self praise, it was not intended to come across as a press gang to get people involved, if anyone can help all well and good, but if not as you say that does'nt mean they dont care, and everyones situation is different,
so lets nip this in the bud now, and get back to the fishing & fun [:D][:p][:D]

All The Best
