can somebody clear this up for me...

all record fish details in the uk are handled by the British (rod caught) Record Fish Committee...does this mean that any records landed on a pole would be immediately discounted due to not being "Rod Caught"??

I am not an expert on these matters but I would have thought that pole caught fish would have qualified? Best bet is probably to write to the committee and ask?

Thats your opinion rather than Fact though Roach Basher, the guy isnt slating Pole's, he probably uses one to be asking that question.

Just a thought. Lets say I won the lotto, bought myself a piece of land, dug a small lake and stocked it with mega sized imported carp. I stuff them with pellets and boilies and once they are bigb enough, get the rod out and bag a 70 or 80 pounder.

Could I claim a record?

Not sure, whose to say they are not British Carp, but then again would they research the age of the lake and all that?

Any imported fish don`t count, that is why there is no official cat fish record.

I think )
