Ready tied

Following on from bloodworm / squatt thread - After a search and finding a stock of ready tied hooks, I have found I have alot!

I now wonder how old they are and if any good! Some are the old Drennan Carbon in orange packs with black circle.

How long would you keep ready tieds, how long do they last before deterioration of mono sets in?
Would think hooks will last years.

i bought a lot of New old stock ready tied, from a shop closure

including the drennan carbon and drennan team england

none of them have failed due to age, user error yes but age no

as they are shielded from the light in cardboard sleeves there shouldnt be any deterioation of the line

The line should be fine its the hooks that will oxidize especially old hooks, If you test one from every batch you will get a idea if they are damaged in any way. I think if you look after them they should last years, one of the first things I do when home if my gear is wet is get my tied hook in the airing cupboard
