@ anybody - What's your go to bait for the rat trap?

For bait I like double toasted bread really dry it out so it grinds into a fine crumb so they have to get right into the bait. As for trap it's either hatsan 4410 .177 with 6-24x50 or logUn s16 with either same scope as above or other has 4x30 or air arms jackal firepower with 4x40 scope have night vision that bits on to all and most have laser dots to for when the fun gets quick

Just been out back garden and 3 baby rats in traps. That 4 this week.
Not sure what else I can do. Got 7 traps down permanently.
Must be a few gardens with rat holes or nests close by. Plenty cats about as well.

Cats aren't much good for rats tucker, I've seen them run away, a dog is much better.

Might not be in just gardens mate. Under sheds, greenhouses, decking etc. are other places to check.

That’s the trouble. Old man out back got sheds. Compost bins etc. And he also de golf course.
at one side of me they have never done any gardening for 15 years and have old rotten shed and rubbish everywhere. Other side has bird feeders up. And a golf course scrub land 2.
I have poison but also have a dog. And loads of cats so would hate a cat to get a poison dead rat.
Hopefully if I get all this litter/brood that be 1 family of rats dead.
in the past I have had 6 or 7 in a couple weeks then nine for months.
last night 3 were on peparami from my bait stash

Can buy online but think they got to deliver to a gun shop near you.
Bought mine from a advert on a gun forum but was close by. Bit like rods in here.
I got some advice for my buy from the gun and rat shooting expert on here.

showed him the package and we exchanged PMs well into the night. If I not mistaken Pete said if it was for sale near him he would of been very interested in it. ( being a poor pensioner)
He said go for it. And to be fair.
1st pcp gun I have owned and can’t see me ever needing to upgrade

My young cat left a baby rat by the back door for me to dispose of yesterday morning. neighbour keeps throwing out bread for the birds.

Another 2 baby rats in the traps this morning. That’s 6 in a week and 5 in last 2 days.
5 at one side of garden. 1 on other side.
The 1 side is next to manky unkept garden. 5 side is the immaculate garden but does feed birds.
the 5 are out of same nest and nice to catch them before they breed
Set 6 mouse traps yesterday as well. And nowt in them.
Similar happened last year. Caught a few within a few weeks then nowt for months. Unless when it warms up they moved away from back gardens.

Another 2 so that’s 8 in March.
all tiny, just bigger than a mouse.
I will get them all
