Our club fished a match on horseshoe two weeks ago and it was won at peg 22 with only 17lb.5oz.
Not much caught in the margins due to noise of 25 matchmen.
All fish seem to hug the far bank so you have to be tight up.
In some swims you canget tight up with a waggler but the best method is g/b feeder.
My mate toby won the match on hair rigged luncheon meat.
It seems to be one of those places that you can bag up on during the week but come matchday it just turns off.
All the big weights come in the midweek evening matches.
Hope this helps you,
Either as splodger has said, up against the far bank and aim for the carp or go all out for skimmers up in the water.
The majority of anglers tend to go for the carp but there is a massive head of skimmers which average from a few ounces to a couple of pounds.
Fish pole about 8mtrs and no more than 2ft deep, feeding regularly with maggot and you'll get a good weight with the occasional carp to boot
