I visited the river yesterday with Trogg. The access to pegs on the river is typical for the severn fairly step banks, but there are a few larger flater pegs that will take 2 anglers. These would be suitable for disabled angler

The site lies directly behind the pub and is within easy staggering or rolling distance.

Trogg took a couple of pics and will upload them. John

NAW Trev in my early days the fire service used the same lamps as the miners and were fitted to fire helmets. Later to be fitted to shoulder harness. So there is a precedence for me using it. not withstanding that I have yet to find a better method of lighting for netting etc of the fish.

Sorry about the pics being uploaded a bit late.

Been busy today, buying a couple of sacks of bait for Elvington, buying another jeep & fitting another soddin house makeover idea (I'm gonna sue the BBC for all this agro)

First pic is looking towards the old bridge from the camping field.

Second pic is taken next to a gravel bar looking towards the new bridge on the A5 bypass

Hi Ray, yes the stretch starts at the old bridge and goes for 3/4 mile upstream. There is another shorter stretch below the bridge approx. 400m. This is also day ticket but a seperate ticket.

Just booked accomodation for me and Phil for severn fish-in. Pub was full but got farm house nearby for friday night and saturday night b and b. It is also the Dendrabina worm farm so bait will be no problem. What other baits are good for severn. Catfood?, Lunceon meat?
Maggots, Sweetcorn? Are there any pools or is it just a fun fish? What time start fishing Saturday?

Its just a fish in a combination of fishing and socialising. Its all on the river. Baits, luncheon meat, corn, cheese paste, and worm for chub and barbel do not fish worm as it goes dark unless you want eels, hemp as feed. Maggots and caster for roach as well as chub and barbel. Boilies MAY work for chub and barbel to. The stick or waggler should produce the roach. If your into piking then lures or some deads should sort out a few.

I dont want to cancel it. It may be a case it cancels itself due to the weather. At worst the campsite may be under water. All I can do is leave it till Thursday midday before deciding.
