Lads, Non-fishing topic, but we dont have a Poll facility, (no criticism intended, 1st time I,ve even though about 1)

However, Whilst with Stewart Bloor yesterday, he asked me the time and we discovered my watch had stopped!
1st time for years I'd needed a new battery!

Went to the market today and saw the stall holder

Things have moved on! He offered me a 5 year battery at 5.99

3year at 3.99
2 year at 2.99
Now, bear in mind I'm off to see Newt soon and Money is now tight!
For those of you that know me, I'd be glad if you would post an opinion of what I went for!

Thanks guys, I'l be on tomorrow night with the answer (could be the shortest running post of all time!)

Trev,

I know you said you were out on a session last night but this one's got to be one of the weiredest posts to date.
thinking.gif thinking.gif thinking.gif thinking.gif
And knowing you you went for NONE of the above and bought a new cheap 1.99 watch off another market stall. roflmao.gif roflmao.gif roflmao.gif

If thats not the case i'll enter in to the fun of things and say the 2.99 job.

Trev,

In the words of Woody Allen - "Time is nature's way of keeping everything from happening at once."

Work on the theory of technology gets cheaper by the minute (pun intended
)
If you buy a 2 year one now @ 2.99, in 2years time the price of a three year one may have come down by a quid therefore you'll save yourself 1p in the long term

lol, Dave

Sorry Lads, MALC was right! Post was after a session (1st for ages )Weird and in bad taste really, but I have enjoyed the replies!

So some of you think I'm a cheapskate huh! lol
and Teepee, sorry mate, you are welcome, its just that some of the ones who know me have an advantage!

Dave and rays reasonings (very clever those)
Middle of the road (safe ground )for Toma, norm and martin lol)

John even safer!

Geoff had faith in the high option, although think he choose it because overall cheapest1

Ok lads, I unhesitatingly went for the 5 year option without thinking!
Hate shopping and anyway it does work out cheaper.
As the stall holder was fitting it, it dawned on me that when I joined the forum, 5 years was supposedly unreachable for me!

I'm feeling so much better, with the fishing and the friendship, that you,ve got me back believing I'm gonna live forever, so thank you all very much indeed!

(Just to be on the safe side, I discussed the situation with the guy and we crcked up and agree on a transferable guarantee for my boys LOL)
Pretty good for a stallholder who might not be there next week LOL

So apologies again, but also heartfelt thanks for the laughs.

CYA all soon at Drayton/Semmer/ weds Martin

Trev - what ever your outcome is, I think you are doing it right.

I know lots of folks who seem to live the same year over and over and over. So all they are really doing is getting older.

OTOH, you are living your life and that, in my considered opinion, is one hell of a lot better idea.

Trev,

I chose the dearest option cos that is the one I would have chosen if I was in your situation.

Optimism never hurt anybody, whereas pessimism can be a real downer.

Keep fishing and reporting and enjoy the time spent with our colonial cousins.

Always try the local corner shop, mine does the lithium battery needed for my Adidas watch for a mere 99p, they have sizes to fit all watches and even they even do the lagers sizes to fit your MOBO. In the local town they wanted 25 quid to replace the battery, the cost was to ensure "it stayed water tight" Hmm when i shoved the 99p cell in this "water tightness" came from a single black rubber o ring.

Sorry Trev

I've put hours of calculated thought into this & just can't decide which one i would have chosen for the job.

Well i'll be honest i thought about it for all of 30 seconds then my thoughts drifted towards the fishing side of things
