I think it is sad that the british people get upset when a fish dies, when a well known member of the british royal family dies no one is sad. I visit a number of forums other than fishing, no one has mentioned Princess Margaret.
I do not mean to offend but you are a strange people.
Thank you Rico,
Perhaps the sadness we feel is typically British and inexplicable to others!
What other Nation would forbid a Princess from marrying the man she loved, because he was a divorced person as Margaret was forbidden to marry Townsend! As her uncle was without giving up the throne (Ed V111th)
Perhaps we all feel remorse that she was driven to drinking , smoking and grabbing such happiness as she could.
Perhaps we feel guilty at arranging a match more suitable for Prince Charles, than Camilla because although they cared, she was also married!
So he ended up with a pretty tart to preserve the Royal Pedigree, nurtured since Henry 8th invented the C of E to keep his heirs in Power.
Perhaps our ability to mourn quietly is what makes Btitain , Great Britain?
