What were Preston thinking when they designed this side tray I understand the reason for the gaps round the edge but what a poor design,
I was put straight off buying one in the shop you just know any terminal tackle, disgorgers, your fags/lighter etc will find them gaps straight away

Not saying it’s a bad tray just for me leaving them gaps has ruined the whole design,I allways tuck my disgorger, plummet, pair of scissors in that crease so there in easy reach without having to look round you know there in that crease, yes I agree you can use a bait tub but then you have to have your bait further back meaning your having to reach further back everytime if your feeding by hand, not a massive problemI know and like I say not knocking the quality of the tray but them big slots for me ruined the whole design

Once you've set the distance for the clips, cover the slots with gaffer tape

If you are going to spend £100+ on a side tray wtf should you start sticking Gaffa tape to it?

A bit of design would have seen plastic inserts with the tray, clip type sections where you could make them up to suit and to fill the gaps.
They would have been cheap as chips to produce for a company as big as PI
