Sunday 8th December and the Pool AC Fur & Feather was held at Woodlands Fisheries, Carlton Miniot, Nr Thirsk.

It was chuffing freezing [8D]

There were 43 anglers fishing altogether and the match was spread over two lakes - 'Curlew' and 'Wagtail' which run alongside each other.
Both lakes are featureless and are designed to give all an even advantage unless you are in the corners.
The species of fish are varied and the sizes run up to about 8lb (Carp).

The Results:

First : James Clay - 36lb 1 oz
Second: J. Royal-Evett- 18lb 8oz
Third : Jeff Duggan - 12lb 9oz
Fourth: S. Mitchell - 11lb 13oz
Fifth : S. Holt - 10lb 10oz
Sixth : B. Tenniswood - 10lb 1oz

The Junior Trophy 2002 went to Mathew Button

28 Anglers weighed in and 15 blanked including myself - enough said [:I]

Best method? Well it wasn't mine lol.
The best method on the day was a single white maggot fished on a small bomb with no loose feed. Any sign of feeding or splashing from feeders put the fish off effectively 'killing' the swim.
The corners fished well up to and within a few metres of the edges.

Well done lads and Mathew, and Dennis you'll be buying the pint next time [:)]

Not wrong Dave it was a tad chilly today.

So the new pole pot worked then [;)][;)]

A big pat on the back for young Mathew not just for winning the Juniors but for fishing in the slightly chilly weather.[:D][:D]
