Hi,
When making pole rigs how do you determine how long the hooklength is? I just guess! Also I have heard some people say not to put shot on hooklength and others saying its o.k. what do you think?
thanks

Personaly Rob for pole hook lengths i tie the hook on to the line then cut the hook length to the size of a 6in pole winder then all hook lengths are the same size.

For Carp and Tench though i dont use a hook length and fish straight through.

Regards putting shot on the hook length as long as it's soft shot i have no worries about putting them on, i use Sensas as they are very soft and hang perfectly and i've never had a problem.

hi rob
i use styles myself on the hook lengths
the new senses ones,
if you get cracked off to get the same
length, i have a 12 inch mark under my pole seat
marked in sections so i know
i can measure the same size,
if in a match i would have a couple of rigs all the same in case of lost tackle or crack offs.
good idea that malc i,ll keep that in mind[:D]
