im going fishing on sunday for carp.
The place i am fishing has carp up the late twenties. but is quite clear since it is a reovoir with no mud on bottom.
I need to know which 2 reels should i use.(take into account the line breakage etc).

1) okuma dyna drag which has a baitrunner and 15lbs mono

2)Browning Maxum which has a rear drag and 10lbs mono

3)Shimano Hyperloop with a rear drag and 5lbs mono

4)shakespeare Firebird with front drag system and 6lbs mono

Please add any other information which may help my decision.

Thanks very much.

5, 6, and probably 10lb lines will be no good for 25lb+ carp.

Go with the 15lb. It would be horrible if you had sat there all day for one 'run' and it ended up breaking you.

I agree with Lee, a 20lb plus Carp will be entertaining, but certainly possible, on 10lb line. So definitely the 15lb Baitrunner with the 10lb as well if you need two.

Couldn't you re-spool one of them to put 15lb line on, as you are not going till Sunday you might even be able to get a spare spool for one of them from somewhere tomorrow.

Good luck, hope you catch one.
