Unfortunately the day I plan on going pike fishing is set to be sunny all day, I know pike and sun don't really go together. I'll be dead-baiting so I'm wondering If there's any point even going, what do you think?

It may be different in the winter but I’ve caught a fair few pike accidentally in the summer on bright warm days so it certainly doesn’t seem to put them off feeding. You’ve done well to find a sunny day tbh they’ve been fairly few and far between this month!

Shady spots would be my choice, sun is usually low this time of year so always worth fishing to overhanging trees and other features that cast a shadow.

Nah... no point ;)

Seriously, not my favourite piking weather, winter sun, but find the shade.
