Could anyone give me any tips on how to catch specimens of these fish as so far i cant seem to break through the barrier of smaller ones. I know of Perch to 4lb 10oz, many threes and twos in 1 venue i fish but can't seem to get them[:(] And Chub many four's and occasional fives but i strugle for a three. Lakes and rivers any thing would be appreciated!

Try spinning or deadbaits for the Perch, (Chub are known to take these too)
or a hoofing big legered lug worm.

I'm not so sure about large chub, never caught one!
They're partial to cheesepaste and breadflake though.
Try legering these, popped up, with a feeder of liquidised
bread.

I'm sure the others will be of more help. [:D]

Is this a still water or a river venue. If a still water then try a small live bait. This should sort out the perch and may well do so for the chub. Alternatively try legering chunks of sardine or spratt for the chub. If its a river then lobworm for the perch. It may be a case of trying different swims to locate the big chub then the usuall baits should score. You could try a crank bait for the big chub up to 5 inches long. I have taken several 5lb+ on lures this big.

Try frying steak
never fails,
Just get some mince (frozen best)
let it thaw out put in swim i bit
at a time, trot a sliver of steak
on a 16 hook never fails.[:D]
