Mick, investing nowadays by individuals is very tough. Whilst there are various programmes to assist, there is much hype at the lower end. Sirrus was a much hyped stock at 30p now down to 4p. Stanley gibbons now down to about 10p both right dogs. Fevertree was a AIM favourite, but now trading mid range, I should have sold at £33.00, Boohoo doing well and supposed to have good prospects

The reason I asked, is that a friend does it, as an alternative form of gambling, and it came up as a subject in the pub the other day
the shares he trades in are very low cost, 5p 10p 20p values and it is more a hobby than a get rich scheme, though of late he seems to have done rather well out of it
ive googled it and it doesnt seem that risky, and noticed that a lot of people do it as a common share club, investing, risk taking and profit and loss on a communal basis
