Wife has asked if I was to buy a dedicated pellet waggler rod, which would I buy? Now considering she knows nothing about fishing, she wouldn't know a rod from a landing net, I am thinking maybe a xmas pressie is on the cards. What would you be looking at, I've had a browse at Drennan, Preston, Middy etc & can't decide.

I use a Preston carbonactive mini 11ft,awesome rod for the money, around £70 second hand, not sure what the equivalent is in their range now.

I have pellet waggler rods by Drennan, Shimano and Middy.
My favourite is the Drennan but they all do the job.
You have not mentioned budget, but i would look at the Middy 5G.

i have 6 of the browning CK2 pellet rods and amazing value though not looked to see if you can still get them, a idea of budget might help with recommendations

I cannot source a Middy 5G anywhere, what are your thoughts on the Drennan Vertex 10ft or 11ft ? Or do I wait till Corvid 19 is over & production get back to normal ?

I have the medium CK2 pellet waggler and can’t fault it.
Also have the 7ft F1 tickler feeder rod and it’s by far my fave rod

I agree you don't have to spend a fortune on this type of rod. Any power float rod from 9' to 12' depending on the venues you fish?

I suppose it also depends on what the average size of fish you are targeting on our venues they are 8-10 lbs with the odd 15 lb + Drennan series 7 does the job,not saying they are the best but will not bust the bank 11 ft & 12 ft .
