Been sorting out some PW tackle like my Preston loaded Dura floats. Have glued some lead solder to them to fully weight them. Regarding h/l's I don't tie my own now so brought some of Guru's 15" pellet waggler rigs but seen on YouTube people using pre-tied 6" rigs. So was thinking of cutting long ones down to put in small blue Preston h/l box to save space in Seatbox just like Ringers 4" method boxes. Do you really need long h/l's...?

I always use long Hooklengths in pellet waggler, I can’t see the point in short Hooklengths for that style of fishing , more chance of a short Hooklength snapping on pellet wag

If you balance your bait and hook out so it falls pretty much the same as loose fed bait a longer hooklength can be better as the fish are less likely to shy away from a falling bait than one suspended in the water motionless

I have always used long hook lengths for likes of stickfloat fishing etc so I'll stick to what has worked for me for many years. Thanks for replies.
