my brother just text me this picture of his new pb chub

5lb 1oz caught from the ouse in harrold.

Notched up two p.b chub in successive casts on Thursday night on the Soar. - 4.10 and 4.11 next chuck on sweetcorn.
Did not get a bite until it got dark - River now running clear with the week of warm weather.

Had loads of 4+ the past few years - Can not get a 5 - mind you a 5+ on the Soar is a big fish - Must try the Trent.

i love the ouse, my PB is from it too. hope the wensum produces this winter.

Get yourself down the Wreake at Brooksby or similar on freelined floatfished bread feeding a bit of mash and adopt a roving approach to cover more water there are some bigger than 5lbs.

Done that big fella but not for a few years.

Chub must have put on some weight since last time I fished down there,thought it was Wreake Angling water now ?

Had 26 in one day in the summer on that method - none above 4lb -
mind you never done it in the winter when some meat is on the fish.

Mind you had some good perch from that stretch and at one time some big roach.
