I fitted a new pair of hinges on the oven door not long back, and whether it's owt to do with that, the electric sometimes trips when the door is opened / shut. Seems to maybe be a problem with the door switch, is it a new oven or can it be fixed?

Could you have Loosened a wire whilst Moving the door mate, the slightest Movement could have caused a short.

If it's a dodgy switch then it's an easy(ish) repair, but you'll need the make/model number of oven to get the correct switch.

I reckon I could have done what you suggest, as it was quite hard to get the door back, and I did start losing my rag. ;) I haven't been happy with the door fitting since I fitted the new hinges, and the oven is quite old now, so maybe treat her and get a new one. I was really surprised at the prices now, I paid around £600 odd for this Creda, yet they're not much more now, and that was over 20 years ago.

As with all things, shop around. You'll be surprised at what you can find.
