Hi as the title really,

Looking for Drennan series 4 ( yes 4 ) 12.5 meter pole or sections
Drennan polemaster 190 ( mines 11 metres ) or sections

and or info of compatible sections
( on both poles Drennan have stated there’s no spares and that no other poles were made on either mandrel ( which I find hard to believe don’t think either pole is exactly what could be referred to as ‘ top end ‘ so to replace a mandrel without making another pole on it seems a bit drastic )
could be these poles were ‘ bought in ‘ and not manufactured by Drennan so which other brand may have done the same and had their graphics on the butt sections ?

Drennan have never manufactured poles or rods they buy them in from manufacturers to their specification the only firms that make rods and poles themselves are Tricast, Daiwa and Maver.
I remember both of those poles and I am pretty sure they did not sell in big numbers so finding one for sale would be rare.
As an alternative you could try and get something that was nearly a fit then get one of the specialist repair companies to make it fit, some shops have old sections kicking around but the mandrels in use 25 years ago are not similar in diameters and tapers.

Hi
Biggest issue I have is would be that Drennan won’t state if any of their other poles are compatible with mine, all they’ll say is ‘ oh those are old, bit before my time sorry no spares

I’ll have a measure of a couple of sections and pm you
got an old drennan team england in the garage if the sections fit ?

Thanks

Your views are very similar to mine ( unfortunately ) I too have never seen, even when they were new, many of either pole in use, which would indicate, as you say, Drennan had them made for them, which also means there must be other branded poles manufactured on the self same mandrels ( but which !! )

That’s a distinct possibility my series 4 has full blown graphics on the 12.5 mt and the 14 meter sections so quite likely the polemaster followed suit
From the limited info I can find a lot of those era poles ( and many today ) were sold in various lengths

Thanks for the heads up I’ll do a bit of research. To be honest as mentioned by Ken the PacMan as most manufacturers sourced the rods and poles from, I’m guessing, a handful of manufacturers ( bit like car engine many use the same block ) there ought to be cross over section compatibility

Are you trying to replace damaged section with better ones?

If so, measure your damaged sections (length, diameters etc.) and post them on here.

We are all so bored at the moment that going out to the shed and measuring old pole sections will give us all something to do.

Hi, my mate has finally got back to me, he still has the polemaster but its called a polemaster 290 . It is 12,5 metres long, also has full graphics on the 12.5 and 11 mtr sections it lso has the cupping kit and cups. Sadly though he is not wanting to part with it as he uses it in the summer for tench and crucian fishing. Its actually quite light he says as only 690 grams at 11 mtrs.. only has one original top though, but has got a couple of drennan universal top kits as back up.
