Many thanks for all your kind comments. True, lots of memories, some good some not so good, but in hindsight all enjoyable.

Genuinely brought a tear to my eye. Father time catches up with us all sadly. I hope the memories of 70 years of enjoyable fishing keep you warm. Good luck for the future and please remain a maggotdrowner. I'm sure there are lots of us young whippersnappers who will really appreciate you sharing the wealth of knowledge built over all those years.

Not as good as going yourself,but lots of hours of vicarious pleasure to be had with a multitude of fishing video on You tube,and no hassle !

All the best for the future. I'm in mind of the Roy Harper song, 'When An Old Cricketer Leaves The Pitch' ,reading this. A different sport , but the sentiment fits.
