Got out today on my local club lake. Ive had 2 blanks in my last 2 sessions so have lost a bit of confidence. Its my first winter on commercials so im still learning. It was reasonably warm today, car told 11 degrees. The weekend match results didnt fill me with confidence either. I arrived just after 10 and settled on my home for the day. I setup up a bomb rod and 2 pole lines, one at 11m and a short line. First cast on bomb and popped up bread saw no indications, 2 cast saw the tip pull round, typically just as i was moving my pole for a dog walker. I had a brief fight before the hooklength broke. New hooklength on and the tip went round almost as soon as id tightened up. After a good fight a common around 7-8lb ended up in my net, but during the fight my only bomb came off! Decided to drop an 8mm disc of bread on the 11m line and within minutes a fish around 3lb was on. Had a quick run of fish before it went dead. 45mins later still nothing. Out of desperation i made up a link ledger to go back on the popped up bread. Was a good decision as the fish were still there and the tip wrapped round every chuck for 30min until i got broke up again and called it a day. Had around 10 fish for 35lb. Not bad for 2.5hrs fishing and a new method learnt, happy days
