If Khaled does buy the potential could be fantastic and the possibility of a "City" not to be dismissed

I had the Newcastle local phone in on before and they still a bit doubtful till it actually happens.
Great weekend up here. Sunderland getting beat in the playoffs and now this takeover talk.

Maybe just talk.........

(Last night->) ...the optimism was gradually replaced with familiar misgivings. This will be the fifth time in 11 years that Newcastle have supposedly been on the verge of being sold by Ashley, but on each occasion the talks have collapsed and there are growing fears this will follow suit.

Telegraph Sport understands that although a price has been agreed with the Al Nehayan, the United Arab Emirates based businessman is yet to provide proof of funds with sources indicating there is a long way to go before a deal is concluded.

Heard the same late last night. They were involved in rumours of a bid for Liverpool a few years back and funds were a issue then.

Really? They must have had a tenner kickin about?
Good luck to them I say, more for the 40-50,000 fans they get every week.

More chance of the usual relegation. Especially if the Fat Spanish Waiter leaves.

Rafa is leaving the club. Rumours he turned down £6 million a year and £50 Million for players.
But Who’s Next as toon boss

Only a few weeks ago they were talking about signing Superstars and how long it would realistically take them to win the league.

So, thirty something days to the end of the transfer window, no manager, no coaching staff, no apparent urgency to appointing any, last season's two top scorers both gone as has our best holding midfielder, with the other one looking to leave , and the best prospect to come through the academy in a decade seemingly about to go...
What was Derby County's record low points again ?

Well done Mike, excelled yourself this time.

Strange how the takeover rumours always start shortly before season ticket renewal time and then fizzle out......

Turned us down according to the reports.
Ashley is going to struggle to get any decent experienced manager to work for him. Hence the approach to Gerrard.
There must be loads of managers, with or without past connections to the club that would jump at the chance to manage Newcastle. If it wasn't for the owner

Well he got Rafa and maybe the £6 million a year played a part in that.
