No idea. Last Tuesday I noticed it started just hanging around on the surface and put it down to the weather. It ate everything and came over when I put my hand in so I assume some organ failure, it happens. Luckily my local has a replacement. He’s closed Monday and Tuesday but I’ll text tomorrow and ask for one kept a side for me.

Hi all i have decided to do something i thought i would never do again and thats to build a new koi pond . Im going to make it 3.6m x2.4 x 1.5m deep ,mostly out of ground with a 1.8m x 900 laminated glass viewing window . So far i have spent quite a bit , there will be 55 ish 2.4m x 200mmx100mm sleepers layed flat ways and screwed down and together ,there will be a box welded butyl pond liner with a spindrifter bottom drain and 2 returns back into the pond ,there will be a nexus 320 plus ,a 55watt uv ,1 4inch ball valve and 3 1.5 in ball valve isolators , one 130 litre air pump for the filter and 1 60 litre air pump for the bottom drain , the return pump will be 10000 litres on max setting .Im fitting an in-line de chlorinator to help with water quality . This may all take a while to fruition due to only working on it on weekends and maybe next week if the materials arrive πŸ˜€. Wish me luck , il keep up dating my post's for any one thats interested, i will be stocking the pond with about 8 ish nice quality koi a few at a time . Pics to follow as i start .
Bit more progress

Could be many many things ,maybe organ failure, looks like no external parasites as i cant see any marks if your other fish are ok i would say internal problem , khv only shows up at higher temperatures, just guess work on my part .

Need to raise garden as it slopes 6 in approximately, il lift garden 4 in or so and slope it towards the field ,that will lower the height of pond and look better. Next to do is a pergola roof when i can decide on a design .

Looks brilliant, hope you get many years pleasure from watching your pet fish, they will certainly be safe from predators, worth the effort for sure. πŸ‘

Cheers Alan , apparently there are otters about so i need to enclose it properly , i have polycarbonate sheets to go on the weekend ,i will leave air gaps . I will enclose the whole thing with a roof and clear perspex on the sides ,thats when i get a good design in my head . I have to think about chemicals from the farmer when he sprays and the otters .
