I see that Vespe have just released 2 new elastics rated at 22 & 25 grades.
Is this overkill or just encouraging anglers to be irresponsible.
This sort of elastic is going to overgun almost any pole except some of the toughest margin poles.
Surely this is just encouraging people to adopt skulldragging tactics similar to the doubled up 20 elastics in landing net handles that appeared at Drayton a while back.
Sorry but when carp get that big,it's time to get a rod & reel out IMO.

I have to agree it does seem a bit heavy. But I should imagine the tackle trade will be fairly happy as I can see some badly busted poles with this stuff.I dont go above a 14 laccy ever, even if my pole would cope with it,once they get that big it rod and line stuff as Peter has said.

Don't argue with an idiot they will only bring you down to there level and beat you on experience

Totally agree with Peter & all the above. Never fish above 14 elastic - if you need a 20 elastic, fish a rod & line (preferably with optonics & boilies LOL)
