There was a lot of old 'dead' leaves coming down in the flow but trundling along the bottom rather than midwater and these seemed to foul the hookbaits quite a bit so I changed tact and put a 30cm link on the bomb and a 60cm hooklength with Lobworm on the hook. The idea was to keep the hook off the bottom assuming the line from the lead would be at an angle.
It might have been coincidental but it seemed to work.
When I go again I'm going to try the same tactic but add a bit of pop-up foam on the hook with the worm to counterbalance the hook, just to see if it does the trick.
