Excellent bite indicators used by many in their day.

There’s not many of us not used them is there Mark ? How many times have you been clipping one on your line when it’s lifted violently and hit the underside of your rod. I used them for Tench fishing in the 70’s. Don’t think I’ll be having a bid on this one though. 🤣🤣

Managed to sneak an hour in last thing today, the wonder of jig fishing is rod out of the bag, and you’re ready to go, no prep, no plumbing up, just chuck it out and jig it back in. Was super pleased with this fish just as I was thinking it was getting a bit dark so time to go.

As it’s cold out today I thought I’d add some warmer clime scenery pics from some of my sunshine state trips

Backyard dock fishing at Madeira beach

Nice photos. Used to go to John’s Pass a lot. A friend had a condo over there and let us use before we bought our own. Not been over for about 10 years now. Miss the laid back lifestyle

Thanks mate 👍🏻

That sounds ideal the Johns pass/Madeira beach/treasure island area is very nice isn’t it. Bet you had some great trips over there! I’ve not been on an out and out proper fishing holiday there like those I do further south instead I just went for a normal holiday with a couple mates but being where it was we of course had a few mornings fishing whilst there.

One of the boardwalk from the pass bridge for a bit of nostalgia for you!

That brings back some memories. Eaten in most of those restaurants along there, hied jet skis and been deep sea fishing once or twice on a boat that leaves from there.

Sounds good to me!

Think I’ve eaten in 4 maybe 5 of the restaurants, hired kayaks to go out to the sandbar parties they have and been on one of the charter trips with the main charter company. Was pretty cool taking the catch back to their own restaurant afterwards and having it cooked just hours after it was caught. One memorable experience was coming out of the gents in said restaurant to see my mate stood at the bar with a beer in one hand and a big bag of grunt fillets in the other looking rather confused as to what he was supposed to do with them 😂
