Murphys Pond - Wheldrake

Been advised to try somewhere called Murphys pond at Wheldrake (between York n Selby) but as Google has never heard of it i'm guessing it goes by another name.

Anyone heard of it?

no it is called murphys pond, its small and really nice, fully of ide and f1's bout 4-5 foot deep, canal style lake, fish pole across or shallow with maggots for ide.

lots of little nucks and crannies, plus quiet so can generally find ya self a nice spot. westerly is on the other road going into wheldrake, the murphys pond is on the road with the ferry bridge pub on it

i fished it last year did not have a good match was very patchy but my mate had fun when he kept hitting the electric fence with his pole :eek:)

yes louie, on left hand side, easy to find.

up in water feed heavy with maggot should have a half decent day
