When you're P2Ping your connection is ALOT less relevant because you are half
reliant on the connection speed of those sharing files and what percentage of
bandwidth they've allocated to uploads.

For example when I'm using kazza my Uploads are throttled back to 56k between
a maximum of 3 connections. Most people's are set alot less!

For this reason it can take ages to download a file that you could get in 5 mins
if you had a dedicated connection.

It took three days to download a certain film last week using Kazza over
our office connection which is 2 Meg SDSL!

The reason was the sources available for the files I wanted were only
able to deliver 2bps MAX! When you're downloading two 800 meg files
you're obviously in for a wait. [:D]

Of course with an always on connection is doesn't matter anyway, you
just set it going and forget about it. No way you're going to do that
on dial-up. [;)]
