yes. i beleive the carp often hover above the method picking bits off as it breaks down and sucking them in. a 2" hooklength isnt going to reach if you get what i mean

I use 2ins -3ins.
But depends on fishery rules thou.

The size depends on how the fish are feeding, always have different size hooklengths ready for use. If your getting a lot of liners then the carp are obviously intrested in the feeder and not put off from it so its better to use shorter hooklengths to get instant results. If your waiting a long time for bites then just experiment with longer hooklengths

If you use 2" and hook the fish around the out side of the mouth then 2" is to short if they can be hooked in the mouth its ok
