the pole is a dream verry light at 13m and is verry strong with it,
get's a little heavy at 16m

just need some bigger fish to play with it

dazb,glad to hear you're happy with the pole,
you'll not need it on the don on the stretch we are going on,the banks are a bit steep behind, some people use pole but its awkward un-shiping, if we get some rain and the river is up, then we'll have to go on the canal, and flash the carbon,
that stretch we're going on its better with stick/wagler & feeder, a mate had 17 chub to 3lb, last week on stick-float & caster,
i'll give you some upto date info the week before.

Tony,

I know we're all in need of more water on the rivers, but assuming we're at normal level by 15th, any advice on likely depths and Stick weights?
I normally fish a 7ft depth on the Trent heavy, with a 7 or 8BB stick.

What do you use on the Don?

Hiya Andy,DAzb,Norm,Trev as you say the rivers could do with a bit of rain, but normally its not like the pace or depth of the trent, on average 4ft to 7ft. not many swims of the later and float size more in the 4x No.4 to 7x No.4 or wagler 2AAA sometimes better to search across the river its not too wide, just an under arm flick, feeders to 1oz. is all thats needed, bait wise 1pts. caster & 2pts. of hemp mixed together to feed every trot or to put through a feeder a few maggots for change hook bait, there's a few bream on the stretch if you want to try a small g/bait feeder, and also some meat, worm, for change hook baits for the feeder, but then you no what happens to the best made plans,

I'll be in touch next week with more distructions,

ps a walk of 12 to 20 pegs so err on the side of lightness, dont you worry Trev you just need to walk we'll carry your tackle, unless you get on daz's back,
