I've had a couple of e.mails asking if I am planning to run the Southern Champs again this year. Well I'm happy to do so provided there is enough interest and a suitable date can be found. For a change I thought we could visit Hartleylands Farm Fishery and have our match on either Nicks, Bramley or Peartree Lakes or a combination of these.

To show your interest please put your name below together with a suitable month, a lot of the Sundays this year are booked so it may have to be a Saturday but I'll check availability of dates with the fishery.

Interested Names.

The only time it rains in Kent is when you visit, thats why there's now a barrier on the border to stop you getting in.

I guess we could make an exception if you really wanted to come along and join us, if you bring Gem it will give me another chance to take a pound off her.

Colin and I might be interested. Best time would be late September through to November as long as it doesnt clash with my club matches .

Ill speak to Tony (Spamwham) as he is sure to want to come as well.

I'm up for this Vince ;o) Although I don't fish the place very often I usually do 'ok' and it's normally a decent days fishing on either of the three match lakes. Incidentally, would we be fishing to fishery rules or will there be additional rules? ;o)

will there be additional rules

Yes

Rule 1 no one is to tell Nick Gilbert about this match.

Rule 2 pellet waggler and floating feeder are banned

Rule 3 If Nick does find out then he will be disqualified if his bag weighs more than his first estimate.

I have today visited the fishery and have provisionally booked Saturday 29th September as the date for the Southern Champs. Unfortuantely all the match lakes are booked on sundays more or less right through the year so had to settle for a Saturday.

This however actually works in our favour as Paul, the owner, has said we can have both Peartree and Bramley Lakes if we want and only pay for the pegs we actually sit in. This will mean having loads of space thus increasing chances of good weights.

The peg fee is 6 per peg so I suggest we pay 10 each which will give a little amount to pay out in pools money. Rather than paying out 1st three places we could just pay section money which will give more people a chance of picking a small amount up.

We will be fishing to fishery rules.

I suggest we Draw at 9.30am and fish 11am till 4pm

Keep those names coming in.

Vince

[:D][:p]Can I fish with a 50lb handicap then dave[:p][:D]

Stick me down Vince, they are the two fairest lakes on the fishery you can win off of any peg.

You will need much more than a 50lb handicap before your catch is anywhere near your estimate[:p][;)]
