Hi all new to the site so apologies if someone has reviewed this already . Treated myself to a matrix xr36 comp which is a huge step up from my daiwa 160 box . I have to say I love it , first thing that impressed me is the storage , the full width side drawer has so much room and is so easy to access while fishing ( now I have fitted the 3cm spacer section £20 ) everything fits together tightly , the catches are spot on . The next thng to impress me on first viewing was how easy the footplate slides out which I didnt appreciate fully until setting it up on the bank for the first time , pop in the catch pull and it just locks into place . The box is super sturdy and downt move , very planted . My matrix adds on fit great as you would expect although the extra long feeder arm is a faff to fit . It is very heavy but the shoulder strap is very good for when I do carry it at all . The legs have all locked very easily no slippage as of yet and there is loads of room when sat on the box and a rod is across me . The drawer stay shut while carrying and its all reasonably splash proof . Oh and I love the colour .
Negatives .
The side drawer wont open unless you remove the strap or take great care to make sure the clips are out of the way . This was solved by fitting the 3cm spacer section which massively improved the already good storage below the drawer and lifted the drawer so it no longer catches
The tightening handwheels for the extending legs were a little small ( as are most ) so I bought replacement large handwheels for £2.50 each ( I think ) and replced as a straight swap
The box is very heavy , I broke my back a few years ago and although I am lucky and it mostly has no effect on me day today , carrying this to far leaves me sore all day so I have bought the matrix transporter
tiny thing but I thought it was a little plain ( despite the bright colours) so my wife who makes custom vinyls made me some nice decals to brighten it up
