Clint is spot on ... the only point in match fishing where you can’t avoid being within 2m of someone else is when weighing in.
Or I could just go back on the canals with metal baskets and beam scales ;)
this Is an excellent idea.

on the river matches that I fish there is generally a set of scales every ten pegs or fewer.

If you have ever fished an open at messingham you'll see that they dont lift the fish from the water onto the bank, it's all done in the margins at side of your platform, they have installed a bar of sorts on the platform that hold the sling as they load it, so they could realistically write the weights on the board (or a nominated angler goes around with board ) and not have anyone near, even the angler, I've seen them weigh over 200lb this way! Its ingenious really,
