Hi Guys,

I just wanted to tell you of my recent experience with Masterline.

Basically i had a spare John Wilson Avon Quiver rod, but the butt section had been snapped before it even arrived at my house by FedEx (Or it was broken before it was even sent, ebay after all)

The seller sent me a new rod to apologise, great, sorted.

So i was left with one broken rod, and one new one.

I contacted Masterline to see if i could buy a new butt section so i could use the broken rod, instead of having it sit in the garage gathering dust.

A nice lady at Masterline replied, and they sent out a butt section free of charge for me

I couldnt believe it, ive never had great customer service like that,

Well done Masterline, i am chuffed to bits :D

I take it you have told the original seller or plan on returning it?

Why?
The seller didn't ask for it to be retunrned when it was found to be broken and sparkeh has taken the trouble to get a replacment section.

I can't see the point in repairing something only to give it back to the seller. It belongs to Sparkeh now.

The original post never actually stated that - it just said they would send a replacement - you're making an assumption.
If you actually need to ask why I would be wasting my time by explaining.

Do all retailers and manufacturers do buy one get one free?

They can have the broken bits back if they like ;)

In all seriousness though, the seller didnt respond to my email about sending back the broken rod.

I guess he doesnt want to pay for a courier to come pick it up from me, and deliver it back to him, for him to then just bin it :p

Earlier this year i phoned Masterline with a problem with my Purist Mk11 reel. As i was working in the area, Tewkesbury, i called in with said reel.
One quick look told them that the bearings would need changing, could i leave it with them for 2 hours then come back ?
No problem.
Returned 2 hrs later too find my reel, serviced, new bearings fitted and NO CHARGE.
Exceptional customer service in this, or any other day & age.

Well done Masterline indeed.

cheers graham.
