Hi,

ive recently returned to fishing after a a few years off. I’m trying to improve my technique a bit.

one of the things I’d really like to is to be able to mark the length on my line and use the line clip rather than spraying my Waggler or feeder all round the lake!

i can tie a sliding knot to mark the length and use the line clip. I tried marking the line with powergum as shown on YouTube! The problem is that the line catches on the tag ends when casting. The powergum isn’t especially supple. Is it likely to be my tying or is it better just to use a piece of heavier line which I imagine would be mor supple.

any advice, techniques would be greatly appreciated.

I use bits of coloured cotton or thin braid. I have 3 different coloured lengths in my pocket all the time.

then I put a small dab of Bright nail varnish on the line so that I can see if the marker knot moves.
