This one is for Dave Moore and anyone else who fishes Makins fisheries.

What has it been fishing like lately.Going up there on the 30th to meet up with some of the summer league lads and was wondering what it is fishing like.
Do not know what lake or phase i will be fishing yet but general info would help.

I have not fished here for over a year but am looking forward to it so get posting and keep me informed.

Keith / Nick,

I've not fished it since September but have been keeping an eye on how it's been doing laterly.

Regards Saturday unsure which phase or lake the Yorkies (and us) are looking at (but Dave will let us know).

I've only been getting rough info as follows:

Phase 1
Lake 1..Small method with maggot for Carp (some on pole).
Chop & Caster on pole for Roach and odd Bream and Orfe.

Lake 2..Small method with maggot for Carp (some on pole to meat).

Lake 4..very slow odd fish on most tactics.

Phase 3
Fishing hard with a lot of dry nets.

Over to Dave for times and which pool.

See you all Saturday.

Heres a copy of a mail I've just sent to Malc...

Malc

Depends on the weather really, if its a hard cold morning I would suggest Phase 1, Lake 1 far bank opposite the car park pegs 6 to about 16 casting to the sunken island, bit deeper water usually produces when its hard everywhere else...

If its been mild and theres a bit of afternoon sun I would suggest a go at the Chub on The Lagoon first pool you come to on the right as you pull into Phase 2, there are half a dozen parking spaces again not sure on the peg nos. but its the ones facing the island, not just Chub but Monster Bream, Barbel cracking Roach and Rudd..., probably better chance of a good mixed days fishing if the weather is right...

I've not mentioned Phase 3 partly because I cannot get a hold of Billy, and I know there are matches on here every weekend, plus its fishing rock hard...

Jimmy is stopping at friends down that way, so we will be looking at an early start probably around 0730 - 0800...

Not trying to teach you to suck eggs, but sweetcorn normally comes into its own this time of year, and on the lagoon I will have a couple of pints of bronze maggot with a good helping of tumeric for up in the water...

Hopefully will see you on Saturday...

All the best

Dave

Hope this helps, See you all Saturday...

Dave
