Now that the nights are getting cooler is it time to switch to maggot hookbait or is there still a few more weeks left for the pellet.

Still a few more weeks left for pellet I'd say. I don't start fishing commercials again until November and I go straight on maggot then.

I tend to fish pellet all year round, will normally have 2 lines long in the winter, one on pellet and one on maggot, and the same close in.

Like others have said, Pellet works all year round. I'm finding Pellet is still dominating on a lot of venues I've fished whereas maggot doesn't seem to be competing as well. I'd say another few weeks to a month and we'll see a major shift in maggot.

I catch on pellet year round. But you need to have a variety of baits in Winter and cycle through them to find what the fish want. Winter I take 2 & 4 mm pellet, Summer 4 & 6. I normally only take maggot & pinkie in Winter.

Another Winter bait is corn skin.

I take pinkies in Winter too to lace my groundbait along with micro pellet.
