Oops you said whip. The airity whip was popular when I went and hull angling were doing them at 149. I missed out but was told to get in touch via Facebook(don't have) and there could be more available. No idea about the middy. Happy New year

Afraid I know nowt about this whip, but generally think Middy rods are very much underrated. I have a couple of their pellet waggler rods, including Arco-Tech F1 rod and they’re excellent. Quality blanks and fittings, that feel no less pleasant to use, or capable than my Tri-cast rods, which are more than twice the price. I bet the whip is good, but finding someone whose used one, might be more of a challenge - good luck!

that normally retails at £400 plus depending on what shop

at £149 it would be the bargain of the century !

(just been on their site, hoping to buy a couple, after reading your post, out of stock why am I not surprised at that)

I can't believe I've missed that. Never seen one at that price ever. However. It does go to show that if that's the get rid selling price the shop needs to make to break even, then it's a big mark up at £400 at full price.

normally, that price is about what a 9 or 10mtr extention costs

they are still the best all round whip on the market and secondhand ones for sale on ebay etc regularly reach £350 minimum

I have bitten the bullet and opened a Facebook account. I have messaged the shop but feel I have missed the boat. My dealings with the owner have all been positive so I have hope

If you get a Daiwa Airity whip legally for £149 its a forgery as its impossible to obtain that pole at that price as one extension section alone costs that much.

I would of thought the shop must be selling at that price at a loss

my local is a Daiwa specialist dealer and though primarily a salt water outlet, can and will order me spares for my poles and whips at a really good price, though I doubt very much, the £149 price could ever be achieved

They did a Daiwa SR2 whip a few years ago. Retailed at 180-200, sold them at £60. At present they have Daiwa windbreaker fleeces for about £25. Why would a reputable shop sell fakes? The Airity is now superseded by the Air so last years models are a bit obsolete in this must have the latest and greatest modern age of ours. The SR2 is brilliant BTW, even at full length of 7m...sadly no longer available either

Having had and still own and use, the Tournament pro whip and the Airity,

I can confidently say they are the same item, just a different paint job

all the sections are the same diameters and length, and weigh the same

The new Daiwa Conni whip looks alright, though Ive yet to see one in the carbon

The Speed whips are also very good but you need to buy a set

Mick, reading your post I guess the Airity is worth the 149 then. When they first had them in Ion the web I turned my nose up because I did not have the cash. A week later they had gone. I live in hope. However as said on another thread I have the sr2, 2 Shamano technium whips, silstar diaflex and a shakespear system whip

if you had posted up that price while they were still in stock, I woulda been in there faster than whippet on a rabbit

absolute bargain, and I woulda taken all that he had, ;)

It is the best System whip out there bar none
