Similar happened to me last weekend. I chucked some pellets, sweetcorn and micro pellets in. I do this at the end of each session. I think it is nice to chuck in a bit of bait at the end. I had 5 nice carp feeding right at my feet for a good ten minutes. Was a joy to watch.

That's exacly why you *shouldn't* chuck your bait in after fishing all you're doing is teaching the fish that if they stay away whilst you're fishing they'll be rewarded with a good free feed when you go !

Nah, you can't fool me that easy......

It's just a subliminal advert for the recent special offer on Wickes' patio decking. [:D]

You can tell by the geezers voice at the end that he hasnt had a sniff during the match

Soon as them keepnets are out of the water then the feeding frenzy starts!!

Most fisheries will allow you to stay on after the match, you're just not allowed to use keepnets.
When my mate and I fish on after the weigh-in, we usually catch more in an hour than we have in the whole six hours of the match.
So why are we the only ones left on the pond?
Is the need to get to the pub SO much stronger?

Doesn't this make you match-boys question why you really need 13m poles?[:D]
Or is it just that you're over-compensating for something?![:0][:0][:0][:D]

Probably for the same reason you carp lads need to cast 3miles with a 10oz bomb[:D]

i too have seen this on many occassions [xx(]
i was taught a 'little' trick by a regular matchman regarding this--
1 hour before the end of the match, throw in all you can in the margins (just leaving some hookbaits on your table). give it 5 to 10 mins before putting a hook in the water and then its BAG-UP time!!!!
he has had 50lb in the first 4hrs and 100lb+ in the last hour!!

got to be worth a try in anyone's books?????

Ditto, whenever i fish a commercial i'll always drop a set up in the margins because everyone does the same thing at the end of the day "pack up chuck left over bait in the margins and then go home"

Captianswoop, a lot of fisheries say that because it can build up and rot which then produces a black sludge which is very very bad for the water

I was told the same.

Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

Just trying to fool the fish and make em think you've packed up and gone home.

Somedays the fish are cleverer than me and suss out my plan [)]

This is why discarding old bait should be banned at the end of a match. The fish get used to it and know what time to come in down the edges. First thing id ever do if i owneda fishery would be to ban this. It ruins matches
