last minute trip tomorrow, with tackle shops being closed I’ve realised I only have 1 and 2oz bombs here, it’s only a small Chuck to an island and I’m fishing for crucians, tench and single figure carp.

Is link legering suitable with a couple of SSG? I know it’s mainly used in chub fishing but thought it was a better alternative to a 1 oz bomb for a short Chuck.

Don't see why not, I've done it in the past fishing for perch and it worked fine.

These are the 1oz leads I make for just such occasions. 1oz inline dumpy dice.

you can use free running leads, olivettes or use a link ledger, its just weight to cast the distance you need so link ledger may be a brilliant choice as you can just enough weight to cast the distance you need, just be sure to follow rules if its free running only!

nothing wrong with 1oz bomb either but entirely up to you, i think for cruciens you are best with lightest weight possible as notorious shy biters, good luck

I use 12grm olivettes as inlines or 2 SSG as a link leger... works a treat
