Picture the scene yesterday.
I havent fished for a couple of weeks due to my mate being poorly and one thing or another.
Im up on the boat. Im moored up in the marina and its deluged all day long and now its late evening and everyone but one of my mates (who poaches it regularly for the roach and is down the pub anyway [
]) has gone home. The marina is deserted.
Molly has left some dried food in her dish and its been out in the rain during the day and so to get rid of it I chuck it in the canal.
20 seconds later and from my side hatch comes the usual slurping ,gurgling noises telling me the carp are there on the free floaters.
I go and look and there she is. Fish of my dreams. Ive always wanted to catch a big ghostie and this one is without exageration 6 inches maybe a tad more across the head and is a big golden flanked deep heavy girl.
She has got to go more than 20lb.
Im on my own. My gear is there on the boat, I have a bag of dog biscuit and loads of crusty bread and nobody would be any the wiser if I get my stalker rod out and my pike reel out and stick it through the side hatch.
So was I devil or angel ?????
