Myself and two buddies decided to fish the final session of the year on a stretch of the Shroppie we havent fished for a while, myself l fished a Daiwa 6mtr whip ( must be 15 years old at least ), Steve fished traditional pole at 11mtrs, Peter fished a 5mtr whip, and also messed about on the tip, which broke his concentration l believe.
We only had a couple of boats during the 6 hours we fished and they slowed right down which was appreciated.
I fished two swims, one bread punch, the other single big red maggot. Steve fished a single swim, swapping between bread punch, and caster. Peter used too many baits to list, no idea why lol
I ended up with 18lb of roach, skimmers, dace, gudgeon and one 3lb chub.
Steve had 12lb 1oz of roach, skimmers and a lone rudd
Peter had 8lb 3oz of roach, skimmers, gudgeon and two nice perch.
Almost 40lb of fish between us, l would settle for that any day of the week.
Pics to follow as l am doing this on my phone.
