Stu,

Have stayed in Killeshandra twice now and never fishedtown lake.I have always driven out to Rann on the erne system and the lake behind the sports field. Both venues gave up plenty of bream and roach.Heavy feeding required on Rann.

Thanks for the reply Keith.I'm trying to find an alternative to Einish cattle grids and Sandy point as the King of Clubs comp has been brought forward a week just when we go,Its fished at these venues.Ive not heard of the Rann could you point me in the right direction. We stay at Tommy O'Dowds and passed Town lake everyday, locals say the point on town lake is good but you have to hire a boat man !.Sounds dodgey 4 men in boat loads of tackle get the picture. Thanks Stu Dav

Stu,

Drive around the lake on the killykeen side and you come to a small bridge.Just past this is a small turning on the right.Follow for what seems like 5m and you come to a fork in the road where the road drops down on the left and rises on the right.Take the right hand fork and follow to Rann. The turning is about a mile dwn this road.Follow the road to the bottom and it opens up into a carpark. We fished on the right hand side nearest the point for big bream. One of our lot had 60lb of roach on the pole at 5m to hand feeding every chuck.Lots of bait.

Hope this helps.

Keith.

Keith Thanks for that
I think I might just give that a go.
At the small bridge do you follow the road round to the right or do go straight on at that junction ?

Thanks again Stu Dav :)
ps how deep is it.

Thats the one.we have fished it from behind where the photo was taken. Two of our lot fished to left of where you are and caught some tench on the float just past the reeds. To the right of the castle it pulls through quite quickly and thats where my mate caught the roach. The bream were behind you on the opposite side of the point.

hi stu dav
hope im not to late just got back from ireland
dont bother with lough rann or oughter or any other lough
on the erne system all flooded 15foot up it will take about
6 weeks to subside if your lucky; the river erne is fishing
but hard going in flood your better fishing land locked lakes
if anybody is going in the next week or so and want to know about ireland just ask and i will try to help,
its the worst fishing conditions for 20 years

Sorry about the duff info I gave you just before you left but they did tell us it was getting better,I assumed they meant now but knowing how laid back they are over there it might have meant next year.
